A penny auction website allows bidders to bid on items they want, just like any other auction site. These items can range from the latest smart phones to fashion, events, electronics and even gift cards to your favourite stores. However, unlike other sites, the bids will increase by a specified amount at a time until the timer for the auction runs out. Bidders must register with the site and purchase bidding credit before they can participate in an auction, and placing each bid will cost the bidder pre determined amount depending on the product e.g. the bidding increment for laptop would be different to airtime or groceries.

The auction begins when the site places merchandise up for auction. A timed countdown then begins to tick down, indicating how long the auction would normally last which is usually a short amount of time and varies between 10,15 or 20 secs depending on the particular auction. Time is added whenever a user places a bid and the clock restarts If the bidding stops long enough for the countdown timer to reach zero, the last bidder (i.e., the one who made the highest bid) wins the item.

The Autobid feature will automatically place bids for you. The bidder can utilise this feature by going to the product page and making the Autobid feature active.

After activating the “Autobid” feature, input the value you would like to “Bid from” and “Bid to” and the maximum amount of Bids you wish to place in the corresponding fields. The bids you devote to the autobidder is deducted from you regular bid credit balance, and thus cost the same as manual bids, but with the convenience of not having to keep a close eye on your auction.

Standard auction hours are between 4pm to 12 midnight.

You will get an email notification after you have won the auction with a link to your won items. Clicking on that link will take you to "My Won Auctions" in your dashboard.

Yes all products on auction are brand new in their original factory packaging.

How far in advance should i register for an Auction?
Usually you can start bidding in an auction as soon as the auction starts at the scheduled time on Motherofallbids.co.za. You also have the option of setting a reminder on upcoming bids.

The first step is to pay for the auction's ending price. You may do this by clicking "Proceed to Checkout" or the link in the email sent to you after winning an auction. Have your shipping and payment information ready, because you'll enter it during the checkout process. We'll send you an email confirming your purchase, and another one each time your item's shipping status is updated.
You must pay for your auction win within 3 days of the auction ending. If you don't pay for your auction within this time frame, we'll assume you no longer want the item. Please contact Customer Support by submitting a help request if you have any questions.

Instant EFT will enable you to make payments with traditional internet banking with SA’s four biggest banks. The electronic funds transfer (EFT) gets verified instantly. No two day waiting period, no proof of payment required and no disclosing of financial information.
ATM debit cards (via PayD)
PayD allows MOAB users to make payment with their debit cards. Buyers enter their debit card and mobile phone number and then authenticate the transaction on their phone. The system works with devices on the Vodacom or MTN network and with debit cards issued by Absa, Nedbank and Standard Bank
PayPal
PayPal is the safe, and easy way for you to pay online. The service allows you to pay through credit cards, bank accounts, PayPal Smart Connect or account balances, without sharing financial information.

After registering, you can click "Buy Bids" in the top menu. A bid comes in Bid Packages, simply select the Bid Package that is right for you and follow the on-screen instructions to finalise your purchase. Motherofallbids.co.za accepts Visa, MasterCard, EFT and PayPal.

There are two options when it comes to bidding. The first is to simply click the 'Bid' button. Assuming there is no technical malfunction, your bid will be recorded and your username will be shown as the highest bidder. To maintain the highest bid, you will need to keep clicking the ‘Bid’ button whenever another user outbids you.
The second option is to use the Autobid feature. Autobid feature enables you to participate in an auction while you are away from the computer. Autobid will enter bids for you based on limits that you set— how many bids you are willing to spend and when to start placing them.

Motherofallbids.co.za servers order the bids based on the exact time they were clicked. There may have been other users who placed a bid immediately after you.

Some Networks/Internet run slower than others. Whereas most emails, some can take minutes or even hours. Sometimes, the mail might be in your spam or junk folder. Please ensure you check those folders and if you have not received the email within 8 hours, please contact help to assist.

You can either register from the Motherofallbids.co.za homepage via email signup or Facebook signup. You will receive an email with the link to complete the online registration.

www.motherofallbids.co.za is currently available only to South African residents.

Delivery times vary for each item that we auction however, most of our items are shipped within two days of paying for the auction item. There will be an email notification sent to let you know as soon as your item has been processed and shipped. Although we don't guarantee a shipping date, most items arrive within 10 days. Please check your email for any notifications. Please send us a HelpRequest if you have not received your product after 14 working days.

For product tracking information, the necessary information about your product’s shipment, including confirmation, processing, actual time of shipment, and the product’s order status will be sent to you via email. You will receive these updates at whatever email you registered with your MOAB account.
If you require further assistance tracking your order, the Helpteam is always close by to assist. If you haven’t received an email update, we recommend you check your Spam folder, as emails can get stuck there. We also recommend that you do this before calling in to the Help Team.

Unfortunately, MOAB does not offer international shipping

Shipping rates will based on the type of product on auction, shipping rates will vary from ZAR 50 to R300. The rates will always be noted on the product page, auction page, and throughout the checkout process.

Replacement- Eligible merchandise is returned and replaced with the same exact merchandise i.e. the product was received damaged, defective, or incorrect.

All packages are inspected for damage before they ship. Items damaged in transit must be reported immediately. MOAB must be informed of all shipping-related claims within 2 business day of the date of receipt. :

You will be responsible for any return shipping costs. However, if the merchandise is defective, damaged, or the result of Motherofallbids.co.za’ error, Motherofallbids.co.za will pay the cost of return shipping (excluding box or packaging material) in the form of Real Bids:

Products are no longer eligible for a return after 5 days of delivery date. :
Product Condition: :
Returned merchandise must be in new or unused original condition and include all factory-packed accessories and paperwork (e.g. battery, charger, cords, straps, unmarked warranty card, manuals, etc.). The merchandise must be in the original manufacturer box and packaging with UPC, barcode, and serial number intact. Incomplete returns will not be accepted. :
Removal or alteration of a product's UPC number or serial number label will automatically void any possibility of return for replacement. Products that are returned with a missing or altered UPC or serial number will be returned to the sender. The product serial number must match the serial number in our records. :
Returned merchandise that is lost or damaged during transit is solely the customer’s responsibility. Please save all tracking information and receipts for returned merchandise. :

Although we have a very flexible return policy on most of the items we sell, there are some exceptions. The following items may not be returned: :

"Phishing" or "Spoofing" emails are illegal attempts to obtain confidential information such as passwords or credit card details. Please contact us via the help link if you have been asked in an email or phone call for such confidential data.

Sometimes users report placing a bid that was not recognized by the auction in time to prevent the auction from ending. This is usually caused by internet lag times or data transfer delays between your PC and our servers.
Lag time most commonly occurs when certain parts of the connection are overloaded. This also might occur if you are using a slow Internet connection, or if the connection has been lost.
We're very sorry that the Motherofallbids.co.za servers did not register your bid in time. Please read the tips below to help understand and minimise this problem:
While bidding, do not simultaneously download or upload large amounts of data (video, audio, software, or other large files) on the Internet. This includes sending or receiving large email attachments.
Make sure there aren't too many people accessing your connection to the internet (i.e. sharing a Wi-Fi network)
Don’t wait until the last second to place a bid. Remember that time will be added to the clock for any last-second bids.
Use the Autobid function.

Downtime is an unforeseeable setback that all online retail companies experience. During such times, users will not be able to place bids in an auction. After the issue is resolved, we will reset any time lost to each affected auction clock so that no users will be left at a disadvantage. Any auctions that ended because of the downtime will be refunded, and nobody will be awarded the item.
